The new Evercade EXP-R hand-held, it's back and it's black!
Blaze announced the new Evercade VS-R and the Evercade EXP-R handheld devices. Both devices come in a new black color and are lower priced than their previous versions.
From the first information we have available, this looks like a rebranding of the same hardware. Both the console and the handheld have gotten a cosmetic change and are now available in black which some people may like better than the original white. Blaze also announced that it had shortened the load times, but wether that is due to improved hardware or just a firm-ware update is unclear at the moment. If it is just a firm-ware improvement, it is not unreasonable to expect this firm-ware to be available for the original EverCade devices.
Blaze has also lowered the price point of both the handheld and the console. Each device can be purchased for $99.99 and comes bundled with the Tombraider 1, 2, & 3 games which offers a nice start for new EverCade gamers.
In conclusion, the news seems very exciting, but if you already have an Evercade VS, or an Evercade EXP, there is not much here for you except the black color. For me personally, that is not a good reason to spend a hundred bucks on.
