PMD 85
PDM-85/3
The PMD 85 is designed in Slowakia in 1985 by a company called Tesla (no affiliation with Elon Musk). The machine boots up into it's monitor program if no ROM cartridge is inserted, this enables the user to load a program from tape. BASIC and Pascal were available for this computer. The PMD 85 was the successor of the PMD 83, and the PMD 81. Clones exist of the PMD, it was cloned by a company Didaktik (Didaktik Alfa and Beta).
Other versions of the PMD:
- PMD 85-1 - Telephone style keys, overpriced, overheated quickly
- PMD 85-2 - Better keyboard, did not overheat as much
- PMD 85-2A - Same as the 85-2, but with 64K RAM
- PMD 85-3 - This machine, 48-64K RAM, no overheating
The PMD 85-3 was a machine designed for automation control and had many I/O interfaces:
- Serial Port
- Tape Control
- 2x parallel port
- System Bus
- ROM expansion port
- IMS-2 communication port (IEE488 compatible)
