The RetroN77 Atari 2600 gaming console

The RetroN 77 is a HD Gaming console that takes original Atari 2600 cartridges. It displays all of your old games in a beautiful, crisp 720p HD image. One could argue that 1080p would be even better, but remember the original resolution of the Atari 2600 was so low that at 720p your games will look fantastic.

Hyperkin has done a great job to both modernize the Atari 2600 experience, but also keep some of the original charms alive. The joystick is of the same design as the original one, but there is also an updated gamepad with built in paddle knob available. And if you cannot detach yourself from the original, the device supports all the original joysticks, paddles as well.

The joystick

The included joystick differs from the original in that it has two buttons instead of one. That is because the joystick is designed to be used either left- or right handed, nice! The cable that comes with the joystick is a whopping 10ft so it gives you plenty of room to sit at the right distance from your screen. Lastly the corners of the new joystick are designed so that they do not dig into your palms as much when you play an intense game.
